Turkey’s Exports to Neighboring Countries Increased

According to data from the Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Turkey’s exports in the first 6 months of the year increased by 2% compared to the same period last year, reaching 125 billion 446 million dollars. Turkey’s exports to neighboring countries also increased during this period.

Exports to Iran, Greece, Iraq, Georgia, Syria and Bulgaria increased by 11.6% compared to the same period last year, reaching 11 billion 630 million 503 thousand dollars. According to export figures, the highest exports made to Iraq were 5 billion 35 million 697 thousand dollars. This country was followed by Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Iran and Syria, respectively.

Chemical Products to Neighbors Most Exported Category

When we look at the distribution of Turkey’s exports to neighboring countries by sector, it is seen that the “chemical substances and products” sector is the category with the highest exports. 1 billion 690 million 451 thousand dollars of exports were made from this sector to 6 neighboring countries. “Grains, pulses, oilseeds and products” and “steel” sectors were other categories with significant export figures.
