Kastamonu Forestry Regional Directorate teams, who took action upon the notification of the locals, are trying to control the fire that started in the forest area between Koçcağız and Cambaz villages. Forestry Operations Manager Erkan Gazibeyoğlu stated in his statement regarding the incident that they were fighting the fire that broke out in 4 different points in the region.

Gazibeyoglu said:
- The fire was caused by three separate lightning strikes yesterday.
- Following the report, the teams intervened immediately.
- Kastamonu, Karadare, Taskopru, Daday, Hanonu and Azdavay teams responded to the fire with water tankers and water supply tanks.
- There was also air intervention and helicopters dropping water.
- The intervention was difficult due to the difficult terrain structure.
- The teams reached the area by opening the roads with dozers.
- A second helicopter belonging to the gendarmerie from Bursa will also support the intervention.
Gazibeyoğlu stated that the intervention was continuing from air and land and that efforts were being made to prevent the fire from growing.
