The residents of Kurtuluş Küme Evleri in Ören Neighborhood of Ereğli district had a road built towards their homes with their own means 2 years ago. However, during the road construction, a disagreement arose between the residents of the neighborhood and Ergün Sever, who was passing through their land.
After the argument, Sever went to court and the legal process that lasted 1.5 years was concluded in May. On July 1, Ereğli Enforcement Office officers, police and municipal police teams came to the area and ensured that the controversial road was closed. However, during this process, the drain pipe was damaged and the street was filled with a bad smell. The closure of the road, which provides access to 18 buildings and 60 apartments in the area, victimized the neighborhood.
Neighborhood: We are in a difficult situation
- Health worker Serdar Turan stated that he was taking care of his disabled relative and that they were concerned that transportation would not be provided in case of emergency.
- Aziz Yaman asked how to get help for his disabled and sick neighbors in case of emergency and requested that the necessary action be taken.
- Hatice Aydın stated that she could not walk due to knee problems and that she was waiting for a solution from the municipality.
Citizens Await a Solution
Residents of the neighborhood reacted to the road closure, stating that firefighters or ambulances would not be able to reach their streets in case of emergency.
Landowner: Closed by Court Order
The landowner, Ergün Sever, stated that the road was closed in accordance with the court decision and that he was insulted during the construction of the road.
Ereğli District Governor Mehmet Yapıcı stated that they will listen to the problems of the neighborhood, deal with the issue and find a solution.
