The provocations of the groups that moved from Idlib to Azaz with 100 vehicles, which led to the Kayseri incidents, continue to increase in the safe zone in northern Syria. The groups affiliated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) are spreading to the region and escalating the tension.
The arrival of HTS-affiliated groups in the region one day before the Kayseri incidents strengthens the conspiracy theories. Sources state that these groups carried out attacks on the Turkish flag in northern Syria and that the Syrian Interim Government took action to capture those described as agents.
Convoy Full of Heavy Weapons Passed to Azaz
It was reported that a convoy of approximately 100 vehicles, carrying heavy weapons, crossed from Idlib to Azaz. This convoy included vehicles and motorcycles, as well as individuals who were said to be acting on behalf of different tribes. Sources say that after the convoy reached Azaz, it dispersed to different points, provoking incidents and that their faces were covered.
The Target is Turkey’s Withdrawal from the Region
Sources state that the HTS terrorist organization was effective in the incidents, and that the identities of those who attacked the Turkish flag have been identified and some have been detained. It was shared that civil and commercial crossings were closed in order to capture all those involved in the incidents. It is emphasized that the connection between the Operation Olive Branch region and Idlib was cut off by closing the crossing points.
Sources state that the events took place in an organized and planned manner, and emphasize that the aim of the intelligence agencies is for Turkey to completely withdraw from northern Syria.
