Fatih Gümüş from Çankırı continues to make rosaries from rock salt as a hobby. Gümüş, who works as a civil servant in the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, has created a remarkable work in his latest project. Gümüş, who made a rosary from rock salt, 3 meters 33 centimeters long and weighing approximately 90 kilograms, fascinates the audience with his hand-made work.
Fatih Gümüş states that his passion for rosaries dates back to his childhood.Gümüş, who curiously examined every rosary he came across as a child, says that this passion deepened even more when an old man asked him about the meaning of the rosary. This curiosity and passion led Gümüş to make rosaries from rock salt.
Silver, who created 33 beads from rock salt that he cut and processed with a machine in a friend’s workshop, also prepared the imam from the same material.Silver, who completed his 3 meter 33 centimeter long rosary by bringing together 33 beads, is proud to have completed this special work weighing approximately 90 kilograms.
Silver, “My dream was to make the world’s largest natural rosary. While making this dream come true, I was inspired by the land I was born in and natural materials.”he says and adds: “I plan to exhibit this special rosary in a rosary museum to be opened in Ankara.”
