Talented young artist from Erzurum, Bahtınur Gül, draws attention with the unique works she creates from waste materials, despite being diagnosed with bipolar disorder at a young age. Gül, who received treatment with her art during her illness, produces special items by using waste materials at home.
Bahtınur Gül, who creates decorative items and practical products by reusing many waste materials from egg cartons to plastic containers, onion nets to leftover cloths, held her latest exhibition at the historical Çifte Minareli Madrasa in Erzurum. The works of the young artist, who holds on to life with her art while struggling with bipolar disorder, fascinated the audience.
Bahtınur Gül aims to generate income and support aid organizations with her works using waste materials. Gül said, “I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 21. But I have not given up on life, I am getting better thanks to my art. I create my own designs by evaluating waste materials. In this way, I contribute to the environment and reduce the harm of waste.”
