Arnavutköy Municipality celebrates July 1st Maritime and Cabotage Day with enthusiasm, as it does every year. As part of the celebrations, various events were organized at Karaburun Port and the citizens had a great time.
It was stated that Arnavutköy Mayor Mustafa Candaroğlu and Arnavutköy District Governor Mahmut Hersanlıoğlu also attended the events, and various events such as flag capture on the greasy pole, swimming race, flyboard show were held within the scope of the program that continued throughout the day. Awards were given to those who were successful in the competitions and a tour was taken along the coast with a ship cortege.
Arnavutköy Mayor Mustafa Candaroğlu stated in his speech, “Cabotage Day means the liberation of our seas” and emphasized the importance of maritime culture. He also stated that they will continue to celebrate this holiday, which has become a tradition as a municipality, every year.
Ümit Ural, the winner of the greasy stake competition, said, “This is my first time participating in this competition. I trusted myself and won. This experience is very valuable to me.”
In the evening of the events, citizens had a great time with DJ performance and Koliva concert. The excitement of the celebrations continued until late at night.
