A forest fire broke out in the touristic paradise of Kundu town of Antalya. The fire, which broke out in the forest area in the Lara Kundu tourist town of Muratpaşa district, started at around 15:00. The fire was noticed by the citizens in the area and immediately reported to the authorities.
Firefighting teams were quickly dispatched to the area. Antalya Forestry Regional Directorate and firefighting teams are trying to bring the flames under control by intervening from land and air. Numerous water tenders and aircraft were dispatched to the scene.
The fire, which spreads rapidly due to strong winds, also poses a danger of damage to residential areas. Citizens in the area supported the fire extinguishing efforts and helped the teams. Work continues to bring the fire under control with the coordinated efforts of the teams.
