Evaluations of Fatih Erbakan, Chairman of the New Welfare Party
Fatih Erbakan, Chairman of the Re-Welfare Party, evaluated the results obtained in the elections held in Istanbul. Erbakan stated that the vote rates in Istanbul do not reflect the real votes and drew attention to the effect of polarization experienced during the election process.
Erbakan emphasized that his party has displayed a successful performance throughout Turkey, stating that the New Welfare Party’s vote rate has exceeded 7% throughout Turkey and that it has achieved significant success in many provinces.
Erbakan also touched upon the Istanbul elections held after the March 31 elections, stating that the vote rate received in Istanbul did not reflect the real potential and that polarization and perception management were effective. Erbakan expressed that they expected higher support in Istanbul in the upcoming elections.
Electoral Success of the Re-Welfare Party
- YRP received over 3 million votes, exceeding 7% of the votes across Türkiye.
- The party achieved a significant increase by increasing its membership from 260 thousand to 530 thousand.
- 63 mayoralties were won, and over a thousand municipal council memberships were obtained.
- While more than 20% of the votes were received in 130 districts, high voting rates were reached in many provinces.
Evaluation of Istanbul Elections
Erbakan stated that the vote rate in Istanbul did not reflect the real potential and that the polarization and perception operation experienced during the election process were effective. Stating that his party expects higher support in Istanbul, Erbakan said that they aim to get more support in the upcoming elections.
Erbakan, who attributes the votes from the AK Party to the Re-Welfare Party to the party’s national vision tradition, emphasized that the sacrifices of the members of the organization and the soldiers of the cause played a major role in the success of his party.
