There is a lighting problem in some tunnels on the Mesudiye-Koyulhisar State Highway (D-855), which connects the Akdeniz Road from Ordu to Sivas. Highways 7th Regional Manager Rifat Silov stated that 21 of the 25 tunnels on the route were illuminated, but 3 tunnels were left in darkness as a result of lightning. Silov stated that the problem will be resolved in the coming weeks.
There has been a lack of lighting in the 3 single-tube tunnels on the Ordu-Mesudiye-Koyulhisar State Highway for a long time. Drivers feel anxious while passing through the tunnel and suddenly encounter sunlight at the exit.
According to Highways 7th Regional Director Rifat Silov, there are 25 tunnels on the Ordu-Mesudiye-Koyulhisar State Highway with a total length of 77 kilometers. 21 of these tunnels are illuminated. Electromechanical operations continue in the remaining 4 tunnels. It has been stated that the 3 tunnels that remained dark as a result of the lightning strike will be illuminated in the coming weeks by solving the problem.
Mesudiye Mayor Cengiz Koçyiğit stated that power lines were installed in the last few unfinished tunnels on the Ordu-Mesudiye-Koyulhisar State Highway, but some problems were experienced due to seasonal conditions. Koçyiğit stated that negotiations with the contractor company are ongoing.
