US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that significant support to the Gaza Strip within the scope of humanitarian aid continues. According to CENTCOM data, a total of 8 thousand 831 metric tons of aid have been delivered to Gaza since May 17. Some of this aid, amounting to more than 5 thousand tons, was sent via the temporary pier.
“Since May 17, more than 8,831 metric tons of aid have been transported through the sea corridor to be distributed to the people of Gaza through humanitarian organizations. Last week, more than 5,000 tons of aid were transported to Gaza through the temporary pier alone, providing the second highest aid volume of all crossings. Today, due to the expected adverse weather conditions and sea conditions, the temporary pier was moved from the Gaza coast back to Ashdod, Israel,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
