The body of Iranian mountaineer Ekber Helil, who lost his life while climbing Mount Ararat, was taken down from the mountain in a successful operation. The incident took place in Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı.
3 climbers from Iran set out to climb Mount Ararat on June 14. It was learned that the climbers who reached the summit of 5 thousand 137 meters high, fell to 4 thousand 600 meters on the way back and lost his life as a result of an accident
Other climbers who noticed the incident immediately reported the situation to the authorities. Gendarmerie, AFAD and UMKE teams were immediately dispatched to the region. However, due to difficult conditions such as avalanche risk and falling stones, the teams had difficulty reaching the point where Helil was located and were able to carry the body with ropes.
The body of the Iranian mountaineer was transported to the camp at 3,200 meters and transferred from there to the morgue of Doğubayazıt State Hospital by ambulance. The body is kept at the hospital for autopsy.
