Cultural Heritage Digital Documentation Training Application and Research Center (KÜMİB), operating within NEVŞEHİR Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVÜ), worked to document cultural heritage in registered buildings damaged in the February 6 earthquake in Adıyaman.
The Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey continues its project and implementation support for the protection of immovable cultural assets damaged by earthquakes in the provinces and districts declared as ‘Disaster Area Affecting General Life’ . In addition, within the framework of the ‘Regulation on Providing Assistance to Immovable Cultural Assets’ by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, support is provided for the protection, maintenance and repair of immovable cultural assets that need to be protected and are owned by real and legal persons subject to private law.
In cooperation with Adıyaman Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Adıyaman Museum Directorate and Şanlıurfa Cultural Heritage Protection Regional Board Directorate, the buildings damaged in the February 6 earthquake were evaluated and project work was initiated in the registered houses that were deemed suitable.
Studies on the preparation of data such as 3D laser scanning, aerial imaging with UAV, orthophoto, plan, section, cocktail cloud slice in CAD format for historical buildings for which it was decided to prepare survey, restoration, restitution projects were carried out by KÜMİB DirectorDr. Lecturer Ömer Uzunel and Lecturer Fatih Yılmaz within the body of NEVÜ KÜMİB.
