CHP Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu emphasized his confidence in the combat capability of the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and stated that the country’s defense force should always be at the highest level.
Yankı Bağcıoğlu stated in his statement, “Although war is not an option, we believe that the readiness level of our Armed Forces should be kept at a high level when the security of our country is at stake. In this context, the Military Health System must be urgently revised and reactivated, and the TSK command structure must be brought into line with the principles of unity of command and simplicity.”
On the other hand, while it was stated that the Minister of National Defense was trying to eliminate the negativity with current practices, it was emphasized that the Gendarmerie General Command and the Coast Guard Command should quickly re-establish ties with the Land and Naval Forces .
“We must take our national defense industry initiative even further”
On the other hand, the importance of the Montreux Convention and the need to respect every opinion defending Turkey’s national interests were emphasized. In this context, the need for citizens to better understand Turkey’s rights in the Black Sea and the importance of the Montreux Convention was emphasized.
Stating that, as CHP, they will fulfill their responsibilities to ensure the security and peace of the country, Bağcıoğlu stated that it is necessary to take the national defense industry move even further.
“One of the most important steps to make peace permanent is not to neglect our preparations.”
Bağcıoğlu concluded his statement with the following words: “War is never a choice, but we will not be caught unprepared either. We will provide all the support necessary for our Armed Forces to be capable of all kinds of scenarios. Our stance in favor of “Peace does not require us to neglect our preparations. On the contrary, it is one of the most important steps to be taken to make peace permanent.”
