Muğla Coast Guard Irregular Migrant Rescue Operation

In the latest operations off the coast of Bodrum district of Muğla, Coast Guard teams rescued and captured a total of 93 irregular migrants.

Operation Rubber Boat

14 irregular immigrants and 22 children in a rubber boat detected by the Coast Guard Unmanned Aerial Vehicle off the coast of Bodrum were stopped and captured by the Coast Guard Boat (KB-110).

Engine Failure Operations

• In the first incident, the rubber boat carrying immigrants set out to sea experiencing engine failure and drifted. Coast Guard teams rescued 57 immigrants, including 6 children.
• In the other incident, two rubber boats carrying immigrants who set out to sea at different times were dragged due to engine failure. 36 irregular immigrants were caught by the teams.

Transactions and Sending

A total of 93 irregular migrants who were brought ashore as a result of the operations were sent to the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
