953rd Year Conquest of Anatolia Malazgirt 1071 Commemoration Program
The events, which will be held simultaneously by the Archers Foundation under the auspices of the Presidency, on 23-26 August in the Malazgirt districts of Muş and Ahlat districts of Bitlis, will be held to commemorate the Malazgirt Victory, an important turning point in the conquest of Anatolia. Before the program, a meeting was held at the Archers Foundation to promote the events. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak and President of the Turkish Archers Foundation Haydar Ali Yıldız attended this meeting.
The memory of our ancestors is kept alive
Minister Uraloğlu stated that the Archers Foundation, which is the first foundation of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror in Istanbul, has undertaken an important mission to make young generations love all ancestral sports, especially archery. Uraloğlu emphasized that these efforts are of great importance in keeping the memory of our ancestors alive and in transferring traditions to younger generations. Minister of Youth and Sports Bak stated that the commemoration and promotion of the Malazgirt Victory is extremely critical in terms of transferring it to future generations and said, “These events have become even stronger with the participation of our citizens from surrounding provinces. “The promotion and expression of this victory is of great value for our youth,” he said.
Erdogan Will Also Come
Foundation President Yıldız announced that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be in Ahlat on August 25 and will visit the world’s oldest and largest Turkish-Islamic Cemetery and the area where events are held. Yıldız said, “Equestrian shows, archery shows and many other events will be held in Ahlat. “On August 26, our President will address the whole world from Manzikert,” he informed.
4 Days Full of Events
Yıldız stated that everyone is invited to the four-day events and said, “While our youth and children will be interested in traditional sports, our visitors will have the opportunity to observe the breadth and richness of Anatolian civilization and Turkish culture through the tents of our ministry “On August 25, in addition to Solo Türk, there will also be stage shows of the Mehteran band and Arslanbek Sultanbekov,” he said.
