Statement by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department Head, Mustafa Kızılkan
Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department Head Mustafa Kızılkan stated that there will be a significant increase in fire cases with increasing temperatures in 2024.
Fire Department Call Statistics:
- In 2024, a total of 633 thousand 771 reports were received by the emergency call center.
- The fire department received 3 thousand 745 reports in 6 months.
Increase in Fire Incidents:
Mustafa Kızılkan emphasized that there was a significant increase, especially in fire cases, and said, “In 2024, a total of 633 thousand 771 notifications came to 112 Call Centers. 368 thousand 723 of these notifications turned into cases. 6 thousand 326 notifications came to the fire department and 5 thousand 319 of them.” “We encountered 1,833 fire cases in the first 6 months of 2024. This figure shows a significant increase compared to the same period last year.”
Fire Brigade Response Capacity:
- In 2024, fire crews responded to 3,745 incidents.
- Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department is rapidly intervening in operations with 57 vehicles located at 17 locations.
- A total of 308 personnel are actively working to protect public safety and against fire risks.
Community Awareness and Fire Department Success:
Kızılkan stated that increasing public awareness would positively affect the success of the operation, adding, “The awareness of our people and their rapid reporting in emergencies will contribute to the effective intervention of our firefighting teams.”
