Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Applied for Signature for the 5th Time for the Sefaköy-Beylikdüzü-TÜYAP Metro Project
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has applied for signature for the 5th time for the construction of the Sefaköy-Beylikdüzü-TÜYAP Metro project, whose technical specifications have been approved and external financing sources are ready. This project, which is 18.5 kilometers long and has 10 stations, is of great importance for approximately 4 million Istanbulites who do not have access to a rail system on the European side.
Importance and Details of the Project
- The project aims to reduce metrobus density and regulate vehicle traffic by following the metrobus axis between Beylikdüzü and Çobançeşme.
- The 4 million population living in the west of Istanbul will have access to the rail system thanks to this metro line.
- The line will be integrated with the Esenyurt-Saadetdere extension and the HIZRAY project, and Istanbul’s transportation network will expand.
