President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed important issues in his telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During the meeting, the two leaders emphasized their political will to normalize relations between Türkiye and Armenia.
According to the announcement made by the Directorate of Communications, in the telephone conversation held on June 18, 2024, Prime Minister Pashinyan congratulated President Erdoğan on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. President Erdoğan invited Prime Minister Pashinyan to Vardavar-Hz. He congratulated us on the Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus.
During the meeting, sadness was expressed about the flood disaster in the northern regions of Armenia, and both leaders emphasized the importance of working to normalize relations between Turkey and Armenia. In this context, it was agreed that the talks between the Special Representatives of the two countries should continue and the previously agreed upon issues were confirmed.
The leaders also stated that they found the dialogue between high-level officials between Turkey and Armenia positive and exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and the international agenda.
