Amasya Governorship announced that the decision taken in Hatuniye Neighborhood, which has great historical and cultural heritage, will begin to be closed to vehicle traffic. The decisions taken to solve the traffic problem in this neighborhood, which includes important points such as Harşena Mountain, Pontus King Tombs and Yalıboyu Houses, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary List, will begin to be implemented on Saturday, June 29.
In the statement made by the Amasya Governorship, it was stated that the decisions taken after evaluating the demands conveyed by the tradesmen and citizens operating in Hatuniye Neighborhood were due to the fact that the area is located within the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Protection Area and the The current road conditions are not suitable for vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Accordingly, it was decided that as of Saturday, June 29, 2024, the area from the Hacı Tevfik Hafız Street entrance to Yalı Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between 10:00 – 24:00.
The statement, which stated that the necessary measures were taken to intervene in emergencies, emphasized that the road would be open to vehicle traffic in both directions starting from the entrance of Yalı Street and continuing along Aktav Street in order to meet daily needs. With the start of the application, inspections would be carried out continuously by the relevant institutions and the importance of local tradesmen and citizens complying with the decision was emphasized.
