It has been reported that if the information of students graduating from higher education institutions is not transferred to the Higher Education Council System (YÖKSİS), the responsibility for the problems that may arise due to the inability to perform inquiry and verification processes via e-Government belongs to the relevant higher education institutions.
The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) sent a letter to universities titled “News About Fake Diplomas in the Press”. In this letter, some written press and publication organizations have recently published “Some accounts on social media are selling fake diplomas from many different universities in Turkey.”It was noted that news such as these were published.
In the article, it was reminding that student and graduate documents are created via the e-Government portal using student information transferred to YÖKSİS by higher education institutions. Important information regarding graduate document query and verification processes via e-Government is provided below:
- After logging in to the e-Government portal with your TR ID number and password, in the section called Higher Education Council Presidency ‘Higher Education Graduate Certificate Inquiry’section must be entered.
- Individuals can print the document containing their graduation information and submit it to the public institution or private company to which they will declare.
- There is a personal number on the barcode in the upper right corner of the document.
- Those who receive the document can use this barcode number, if they wish, on the e-Government portal. ‘Verification of Higher Education Graduate Certificate’They can verify the document from the section.
- If the information on the document is the same as the information on the diploma, the accuracy of the diploma can be confirmed.
