Hamas’ top official, Osama Hamdan, said at a press conference in Lebanon that there has been no progress in ceasefire negotiations with Israel over the war in the Gaza Strip. Hamdan said Hamas is open to any ceasefire that would end the war.
The Danger of Famine Continues in Gaza
Emphasizing that the famine continues to threaten the lives of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, especially in Gaza city and northern regions, Hamdan claimed that Israel does not allow the entry of food, water, medicine and fuel. The Hamas spokesman stated that international organizations have confirmed that Gaza needs at least 500 aid trucks daily.
The Number of Children in Need of Emergency Assistance is Increasing
According to UN data, the entire population in Gaza is said to be food insecure. While 346,000 children under the age of 5 are malnourished, 50,400 children under the age of 5 are in urgent need of nutrition. It is also stated that 160,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women in the region need additional food to prevent malnutrition.
