As a result of the accident that occurred this morning in Adana’s Pozantı district, a truck loaded with fuel caught fire and caused a major disaster. Following the incident, the Ankara-Adana direction was closed to traffic.
Truck loaded with fuel caught fire due to explosions
The accident occurred around 07:00 in the morning on the Adana-Pozantı Highway. A truck loaded with fuel crashed into another truck loaded with watermelons from behind, and as a result of the fuel catching fire, an explosion occurred.
Drivers Escaped Death by Luck
As a result of the accident, drivers Faruk Akçakaya and Mehmet Çakıcı luckily escaped unhurt. After the explosion, fire brigades from Adana and Mersin were dispatched to the scene.
The Fire Was Under Control After 5 Hours
Fire crews intervened in the fire and extinguished it in exactly 5 hours. Due to the impact of the accident, the Ankara-Adana direction of the highway was closed to traffic and efforts are continuing to remove the vehicles in the area and return traffic to normal. A detailed investigation has been launched into the incident.
