Details of the incident
Deputy principal of Çayırova Fevzi Çakmak Anatolian High School, Mahir Çoğaç, was shot and killed by an unidentified person while in his car. Çoğaç was found seriously injured at the scene but could not be saved. A large-scale investigation was launched into the murder and 2 suspects were taken into custody.
Funeral and Halal
Mahir Çoğaç’s body was brought to the garden of the school where he worked for 18 years and his forgiveness was received. His family, relatives, colleagues and students attended the funeral. District and provincial administrators also attended the program.
Statement of the District Governor
Çayırova District Governor Ahmet Önal, in his statement regarding the murder, said, “The murder has nothing to do with education, the school or the students. We believe that the murder stemmed from hostility between the families. Mahir Çoğaç has nothing to do with “This incident. I would like to state that the murderers have been caught.”
Funeral
After the funeral prayer was performed in the mosque, Mahir Çoğaç’s body was buried in Çayırova Akse Cemetery.
