ANKARA – Former President Abdullah Gül issued a condolence message regarding the death of Turkey’s former Foreign Minister Yaşar Yakış. Gül stated the following in his message:
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of our esteemed former Minister of Foreign Affairs and retired Ambassador Yaşar Yakış. He was a valuable statesman who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs during the 58th government and also made significant contributions to the establishment of the AK Party and its early years. Mr. Yakış, who contributed to the development of Turkish-Arab relations for many years, was greatly appreciated for his work in critical centers such as Riyadh and Cairo. His vast knowledge and professional experience played an important role in the shaping of Turkey’s foreign policy.”
