Fluctuations in exchange rate and Brent oil price continue to play a decisive role on fuel prices. According to information received from industry sources, it is expected that gasoline and diesel liter prices will increase by 1 lira and 30 kuruş, effective as of Friday, June 21.
Currently, the liter price of diesel in Istanbul is 40.67 lira, while the liter of gasoline is sold at 40.3 lira.
Calculation of Fuel Prices
While fuel prices are calculated in Turkey, the refinery sales price excluding VAT is determined by adding SCT and EMRA shares to the duty-free refinery price. While calculating the duty-free refinery price, the duty-free refinery ceiling sales price is calculated with a certain price change difference by following the daily CIF Mediterranean product prices published in the Mediterranean-Italian market and the daily dollar exchange rate.
