Turkish Pensioners Association Trabzon Branch President Burhan Bayraktar made important statements due to the approach of June 30 Pensioners’ Day. Bayraktar stated that 82 thousand of the 193 thousand retirees living in Trabzon receive a salary below 10 thousand liras, criticized this situation and called for a solution.
Bayraktar drew attention to the salary problem of retirees in Trabzon and said, “82 thousand of 193 thousand retirees in Trabzon receive salaries below 10 thousand TL. This situation puts our retirees in a difficult situation. Are you uneasy? Are you comfortable? This situation is unacceptable. I call out to the authorities, “Listen to the voices of retirees,” he said.
Emphasizing that the economic conditions of retirees should be improved, Bayraktar said, “Steps should be taken to raise the living standards of our retired citizens. The fact that the number of retirees receiving salaries below the minimum wage is so high is a serious social injustice “Solutions should be produced to correct this situation.”
Bayraktar added the following recently: “Let’s not ignore the difficulties experienced by our retired citizens. This situation will also have its reflection in the ballot box. I believe that the policies that ignore retirees will be held accountable in the elections. It is the responsibility of all of us to respect our retirees and protect their rights.”
