Bursa Disabled People’s Association members reacted to the news of the regulation that will be introduced for the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) exemption for the disabled. Disabled people in Bursa came together at the July 15 Democracy Square and opposed the draft regulation.
Members of the association expressed their reactions to the new regulation to be presented to the parliament with the slogan “Don’t touch our SCT”. Association President Müzeyyen Yıldırım, in her statement on the subject, said, “The new disability package brought to the disabled is unacceptable. This regulation is the obligation that the state has to undertake due to tax injustice.” he said
According to the right, it is stated that the SCT exemption for the disabled is being abused by some people and is causing the state a huge tax loss. In the tax package, it is stated that issues such as extending the period, collecting taxes on transfers through inheritance and increasing the amount at the revaluation rate are being worked on.
- In the first option, the extension of the exemption period and the taxes to be paid by the heirs are discussed.
- The second alternative focuses on removing the SCT exemption and providing incentives in the form of social aid.
- Criteria such as income requirement and domestic vehicle preference are also important.
