Living in the Kuyumcu village of Çorum’s Laçin district, 64-year-old Mustafa Kurt never returned after leaving his home due to his Alzheimer’s disease. The elderly man’s family became worried and immediately reported the situation to the Gendarmerie.
Gendarmerie teams and AFAD officers came to the village and started a comprehensive search operation to find Mustafa Kurt. As a result of the search, the lifeless body of the unfortunate man was discovered in an old irrigation canal near the village.
When the incident was heard, a sad atmosphere was created in the region, and the village people and their relatives were in great sadness. The loss of Mustafa Kurt deeply shook the village residents.
While detailed investigations into the death of the old man continue, we offer our condolences to his family and loved ones. It was stated that the investigation into the incident is continuing.
