Bodrum Municipality City Theater returned with awards from the 11th International New Theater Magazine Effort and Achievement Award Ceremony organized by New Theater Magazine. Many successful names received their awards at the ceremony.
Award Winning Plays and Performances
- Best Comedic Performance (Female):Ziba Türk Ateş & Cansın Türkdoğan (Come on, Kill Me Canikom) – Bodrum Municipality City Theatre
- Best Kids Game:Ezgi Deniz Alpan & Sertac Aydin (Magic Ship) – Bodrum Municipality City Theatre
Notes from the Awards Ceremony
While receiving their awards, Cansın Türkdoğan and Ziba Türk Ateş thanked the jury and stated that they were proud to be on the same stage with the masters. The directors of the award-winning plays were Oğulcan Çelik and Sertaç Aydın.
Receiving the Honorary Award of the Year, 85-year-old actor Göksel Kortay expressed his happiness to be on stage and said, “I am receiving this award with great excitement. This year is the 60th year of my artistic career. This award has “done me great good.”
Jury and Organization
The jury for the awards was chaired by Erbil Göktaş, while Mustafa İri served as general coordinator. Jury members included Erhan Tuna, Ayşe Didem Uslu, Dalya Uçankuş, Birce Semercioğlu, Oğuz K. Oğuz, Sibel Tomaç, Yavuz Yılmaz and Ezgi Özcan.
In his speech at the ceremony, jury president Erbil Göktaş stated that Yeni Tiyatro Magazine has been in publication for 18 years and that they will soon publish Yeni Sinema Magazine.
