TBB and IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu Visited Berlin
Union of Municipalities of Turkey (TBB) and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu met with Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner and celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Istanbul-Berlin sister city agreement. As part of his visit to Germany, İmamoğlu met with the Mayor of Berlin and exchanged views.
İmamoğlu’s Speech during his Berlin Visit
In his speech to Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner, İmamoğlu stated that he was happy to visit Berlin on the 100th anniversary of the Turkey-Germany friendship agreement and the 35th anniversary of Istanbul-Berlin sister city relations. He expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two cities will be further strengthened in the fields of culture, art, tourism, sports and trade.
Mutual Wishes of İmamoğlu and Wegner
After İmamoğlu’s meeting with the Mayor of Berlin, both mayors expressed mutual wishes. Wegner expressed his wishes for the Türkiye-Germany final and expressed his satisfaction with İmamoğlu’s visit. İmamoğlu, on the other hand, expressed his satisfaction with his visit to Berlin and gave hopeful messages about the future.
Expansion of City Partnership and Cooperation
During his visit to Berlin, İmamoğlu emphasized the importance of cities in our age and stated that intercity cooperation is the guarantee of democracy and peace. He stated that they are determined to strengthen and expand the sister city relationship between the two cities. Wegner stated that they will make efforts to intensify cooperation and expand the city partnership.
Hopeful Statements of İmamoğlu and Wegner
During his visit to Berlin, İmamoğlu emphasized the importance of Turkish-German friendship and expressed his belief that future cooperation will send strong messages not only to the two cities, but also to the whole world. Making hopeful speeches about the future with Wegner, İmamoğlu emphasized the need for strong leaders for cities to be successful and stated that they aim to create happy cities through cooperation.
